A Passion for Compassion

A Passion for Compassion

Those of you who know me will be aware that I’ve been waxing lyrical about my passion for compassion and what I see as a concerning lack of it in the workplace for some time.

In light of the last few months and particularly the horrific events of the last week, I can’t think of a more necessary time to bring compassion to a more public stage– to make it part of our leadership conversation. As we face in to the biggest economic crisis of our time - when Businesses will be fighting for survival, when people will be losing jobs, mental health is being impacted -

I think we have a once in a lifetime opportunity – to step back from what we held as “normal” and to radically re-think the way we live and lead.

At Treasure, we believe compassion should become our new norm.

Compassionate centred businesses put people first. They see their people as whole human “beings” not human “doings” and prioritise their care, enabling organisations to thrive as human entities, as well as business and economic ones.

We think it should sit at the core of how we operate, and who we are; and in doing so make our world, workplaces and lives better.

Over the next few weeks we will be posting a series of short videos – Compassion Counts – to share why we think Compassion will be the key enabler to creating better workplace futures – to enable our businesses to survive and then thrive.

First up, we’ll be talking about Compassionate Leadership, and why it matters.

We hope you will join in the conversation.
